Planting Sacha Inchi for Sustainable Livelihoods
As a key step in the program, Sacha Inchi is planted across selected sites in Lando, Waning, and Pacar Villages as part of a regenerative farming system. The planting process is carried out collaboratively with local farmers, integrating Sacha Inchi with existing crops such as maize to establish a multi-crop ecosystem.
Known for its high omega-3 content and resilience in degraded soils, Sacha Inchi plays an important role in restoring soil health by naturally improving soil fertility, reducing erosion, and minimizing the need for chemical inputs.
Beyond its environmental benefits, the cultivation of Sacha Inchi also creates new economic opportunities for smallholder farmers by diversifying crops and increasing long-term productivity. This activity represents a practical step toward building a sustainable and resilient agricultural system within the community.
